This is a brand new project which was based in Rwamwanja Refugee camp in South West Uganda.  It is one of the largest refugee camps in the country.  We are proud to have embarked on this challenging project in partnership with Finn Church Aid.

What happened?

In February 2019 the team set off for Uganda. The team was comprised of 7 international and local volunteers, working in partnership with Finn church aid, UNCRC, Save the children, and Windle international.

The project lasted 6 weeks and over four and a half thousand children and young people had access to sport and play sessions. Prior to this, there was no sport and play for children and young people in the camp. Our partners have told us that we have filled a much needed gap.

This is just the beginning of sport and play in Rwamanja. Thanks to our kind supporters we were also also able to donate all of our sport and play equipment, which will be held in a central location for all schools and Early development centres to use.
