Gaia, Volunteer

Volunteering with World At Play in Rwamwanja this year was definitely one of the most impactful and satisfying experiences of my life. When I first headed out to Rwamwanja I had no clue about the importance and the significant effect of the play sessions on the children and the community as a whole. However, I quickly found that World At Play is not purely about facts on paper or numbers in a table, but about smiling lips and running legs. I really miss the games, the team and the children. I even miss the long van rides to the camp every day and cooking for 8 people. I am grateful for the time we got and am hopeful that other teams will get to continue this important work in the next years. I really hope that every single child, young adult and adult in the world gets to experience the magic of World At Play in their life.
